Responsibility
Surf Camp is not responsible for injuries, damages, death, financial losses, costs, expenses, travel delays. We assume no responsibility for inconveniences arising from any travel misfortune that is beyond our control, such as weather, natural disasters, diseases, wars, acts of terrorism, late arrivals or departures due to mechanical failures in any car, boat, plane or ferry transport to or from Surf Camp.
1) you are not allowed to use drugs, narcotics,weeds,alcohol and another addictive medicine ( if you have to it needs doctor permitted) if you break it you will be responsible with the authorities or the police
2) You agree to release us from any claim and responsibilities of additional cost if there is cancelation from mentawai fast boat operators due bad weather.
3) we are not responsible for your property lost in Padang or Mentawais

Compulsory travel insurance
Travel health insurance is mandatory for all Surf Camp guests. It should cover medical evacuation costs. Surfing can be a risky sport, and although we wish all our guests to have a safe and accident free trip, injuries can happen and must be prepared for.
Additionally we recommend having a travel insurance at the time of your booking that covers your costs in case of delays, flight/ship/transport/trip cancellations, missed connections or natural disasters etc.
Deposit and cancellation policy
A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking. Cancellation of the booking must be made 90 days before your arrival date via WhatsApp or email. The cancellation fee is 10% for cancellation on time. For late cancellations all deposits are non-refundable. There are no refunds or partial refunds given for early departures by the Mentawai Family Surf Camp due to bad waves, bad weather or injuries. In addition, there are no refunds paid for reasons related to unstable political situations worldwide, national, natural or local, including weather, natural disasters, diseases, wars, acts of terrorism or lost airline flights.
Payment
The final payment is due at least two weeks before arrival and is not refundable.
The preferred payment method is via Wise transfer or alternatively via bank transfer. Additional transfer fees must be borne in full by the customer.
Any form of payment constitutes acceptance of the terms and conditions established on this site.
Boat trips and transfer Surf Camp reserves the right to change the means of transport and the route at any time and for any reason without prior notice. We reserve us the right to reschedule or cancel surf boat trips or transfers if conditions are dangerous e.g. storms/bad weather. No refunds for cancellation due to bad weather, injuries, illness, disasters or bad waves are made. We will always try to reschedule first before a boat trip gets canceled entirely.
Surf boat trip packages include two boat rides per day. One surf spot in the whole northern playgrounds area and one spot close by. Departure times can vary depending on tides and conditions. Guests with pre-booked boat packages enjoy priority for boat trips if there is more demand then boats available. Guests who want to join the boat need to tell us at least one day in advance. The minimum amount of guests for boat trips is 3 persons or the monetary equivalent to that.
Depending on your level, the group and conditions we try to cater to your wishes. Our captains and crew will give you recommendations to their best knowledge. If you have wishes where to surf, please let us know
Documentation
When entering Indonesia, all passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure.
For certain nationalities, a valid visa is required to travel. Check with your embassy well in advance to find out what rules apply to you. We advice taking two photocopies of the passport with you.

- Old Town of Padang. This historical town of Padang with many old buildings and a colouful harbour with Dutch architecture is Padang’s main attraction. It’s located beside the Muaro River. Walk along the beautiful pedestrian at the river bank with a row of old Dutch buildings. On the river there is a historical harbour of Padang built by Dutch. Now the harbour and the river is full of colourful little boats. There’s also a beautiful bridge on the river, Sitti Nurbaya Bridge with colourful lights on night. Still in the old town, there’s an old Chinatown with many old shophouses. There’s a beautiful old Chinese temple, See Hien Kiong Temple and a beautiful old mosque, Muhammadan Mosque.
- Adityawarman Museum. Jl. Diponegoro (Lapangan Tugu), +62 752 31523, 39587, Tu-Sa 08:00-16:00. A museum about culture and heritage of West Sumatra.
- Grand Mosque of West Sumatra, a new modern large mosque that is built with Minangkabau architecture. The Mosque is located on Jalan Khatib Sulaiman, city centre of Padang.
- The Great Mosque of Gantiang. Located in Gantiang, it’s the oldest mosque in Padang and one of the oldest in Indonesia.
- Air Manis Beach. It is most famed for Batu Malin Kundang (Stone of Malin Kundang), a stone shaped like a prostrating man. According to local legend, this stone is Malin Kundang , the ungrateful son who disowned his poor mother after coming home as a rich man from his travels. His mother cursed him into stone, as well as the remains of his ship, which can also be seen near his stone. There is a tidal island from the beach here, with nice clean (by Indonesian standards) water and sand.
- Padang Beach. You can ride the bendi (a horse-drawn carriage) along the beach, and stop by the rows of shops to eat some rujak as you watch the waves. It is recommended that you get a glass of naga (dragon fruit) juice from one of the stalls that line the beach and drink it as you enjoy a leisurely stroll down the shore.

Important Notes:
• Masokut and Nyang Nyang are two different names for the same island.
• For a more accurate planning, I will like to tell you that the Fast Ferry departures from Padang only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, returning on the same days.
• Siberut to Masokut charter boats are small motor boats that carry a maximum of 5 guests with their respective luggage. Very rarely and due to safety issues and only when the load regarding the passenger’s luggage is extremely heavy or bulky (by having excessive weight and volume) an extra boat needs to be recruited. Groups of 6 or more guests will require the recruitment of a second boat.
• Island to Island Boat Rental: From our Surf Camp you can rent a boat to visit the waves at the neighboring islands (Riffles, 4 Bobs, Kandui, Burguerworld, Karamba, Hideaways, A-Frames, etc.). The boats carries a maximum of five guests with their respective surf boards. The cost of the boat for a whole day will be 1,500,000 IDR which is about $115.00 USD. In one day you can visit as many waves as you can. You can share the cost of the boat with other surfers if it possible.
• Extra days to your camp stay in our all inclusive packages can always be added with an additional payment of 400,000 Rupiahs or its equivalent in US Dollars, which is around $30.00 USD.
• The above US dollars prices were calculated with an exchange rate of 13,000 Rupiahs per $1.00 USD.
• BOOKING: To proceed with a reservation, the guest should supply the specific amount of people visiting, as well as the expected days and duration of the visit. To hold or confirm a reservation, the client most pay in advance 20% of the total final price. This payment should be made as soon as possible through a direct deposit or electronic transference into the services provider’s bank account, or through Western Union. This reservation fee will be used to secure the accommodation and to coordinate and arrange all the logistic regarding the resources and services needed for the trip; staff, food, transportation, etc. The final Payment (the other 80%) must be provided to the service provider before the guest departures to the Mentawai Islands. Payment should be done preferably in Indonesian Rupiahs.

Conveyed to all that commencing August 1, 2016 Mentawai Regional Government through the Department of Tourism Mentawai Surfing has imposed levies Voting in accordance with the Mentawai Regional Regulation No. 2 Year 2015 on the Management and Utilization of Tourist Attractions surfing and Regional Regulation No. 8 Year 2015 about retribution Recreation and Sports.
